Do-not-call list and consent
How numbers get on your do-not-call list, what happens to them, what consent you must record for new leads and call lists, and what the calling rules expect from you.
Updated 5 October 2026
Your callers ring only people who agreed to hear from you. Two things make that true: a stated consent purpose on every source and call list, and a do-not-call list that is checked before every call.
How a number gets on the list
- Settings → Do-not-call list: type a phone number and add it. A contact is created if the number is new.
- Do-not-call CSV in the same panel: phone, name and reason columns are detected automatically, with an optional default reason. The summary reads “added · already blocked · invalid”.
- From a conversation: the Add to do-not-call button, after you confirm the call is classified as an opt-out request.
- Automatically: when the person on a call asks not to be called again and the call is classified as an opt-out, the number is added for you. This depends on the classification, so check the conversation if in doubt.
What happens next
Pending scheduled calls, follow-ups and call list contacts for that number are cancelled immediately, and a call already being dialled is stopped by a last check at dial time. New leads always honour the list and revoked consent; a call list honours it when Skip opted-out numbers is on, checked when contacts are added and again right before each call. The list is yours, per business, and nothing removes a number from it except you.
Consent you record
- Every lead source carries a consent purpose and an evidence rule (“Form includes an unchecked call-consent box and stores submission time.”). Each accepted lead gets a consent record for that purpose.
- A CSV import asks you to confirm the people in the file agreed to be called about that source.
- A call list contact needs a permission purpose, an evidence type (written form, verbal confirmation, contract, other) and an evidence reference. Marking a call list ready asks you to confirm every contact agreed to be called about its purpose.
On the call itself, the caller says which business it is calling for and, if asked, that it is an AI assistant. It never impersonates anyone.
